Dale Power Solutions and Advanced Apprentice reach finals in the National Apprenticeship Service Awards 2017

Following the recent win at Regional Finals, Dale Power Solutions and Advanced Apprentice Hannah Magowan are through to the national final of the National Apprenticeship Service Awards 2017.

Dale Power Solutions is now one of the finalists in the Large Employer category and will be competing with Home Group and Volvo Group UK and Eire for the 2017 title. Engineering apprentice Hannah Magowan joined Dale Power Solutions in 2015 at the age of 16 having gained 11 A-A* GCSEs. She is currently rotating around the business learning about all aspects of engineering and is one of three finalists competing for the title of Advanced Apprentice of the Year 2017.

18-year-old Hannah is keen to be a positive role model for others. “I am ecstatic to be a National Finalist. Its lovely to have all my hard work and dedication recognised and I hope to use this opportunity to promote apprenticeships as an excellent alternative route for students who don’t want to go to University.”

Mark Carter, Business Support Manager at Dale Power Solutions said, “Hannah is now one of three finalists in the Advanced Apprentice category and this honor is well deserved. She is an exemplary apprentice at work and college but moreover she is great ambassador for Women in Engineering. She works tirelessly with young people in schools and colleges to promote opportunities in engineering and is particularly keen to dispel the myth that engineering is exclusively for men”.

Dale Power Solutions’ chief executive officer Tim Wilkins added: “Our apprenticeship programme is central to the success and sustainability of our business so we are thrilled to be one of the three finalists in the Large Employer category.  This is credit to all the hard work our teams put into developing apprenticeships throughout the business and in particular our apprentices themselves who proactively promote opportunities to young people to combat the problem of poor social mobility faced by our local community.”

Winners will be announced at an award ceremony at The Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 18th January.

Dale Power Solutions has enjoyed previous successes at the awards winning Highly Commended Employer in 2012, Regional Apprentice (Natasha Pitts) in 2013, 2014, 2016 and Regional Medium Employer in 2014.
