Armed Forces Special Interest Group: A New Initiative to Support Veterans/Service Leavers, Reservists, Spouses, and Cadets

The 5% Club has launched an Armed Forces Special Interest Group (SIG) to support veterans, service leavers, reservists, spouses, and cadets in the workforce. Initially led by Balfour Beatty, a Gold Member of the Armed Forces Employer Recognition Scheme, this SIG aims to create structured career pathways and share best practices for Armed Forces community integration into civilian roles. Key areas include defining supportive practices, enhancing employment pathways, leveraging the Apprenticeship Levy, and boosting engagement. This initiative will collaborate with relevant stakeholders to expand opportunities, demonstrating The 5% Club’s commitment to career development for the Armed Forces community.

This SIG was launched at a briefing event in February 2025 (available to view below) and had its inaugural meeting on Tuesday 25 March (also available below).
