Start your new year with an opportunity for personal development, in nature among like minded professionals, in a safe and confidential environment
The 5% Club is partnering with Brathay Trust to enable our members to spend 24 hours in the Lake District to reflect, develop and build on personal development as well as experience a taste of what the Brathay Trust has to offer.
The “Space to think” event will give you a chance to plan and prepare for 2025 alongside a taste of Brathay’s innovative outdoor learning self-development programmes run for companies and ideally suited for early careers and apprenticeship programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet with fellow members of The 5% Club, network, discuss shared challenges and solutions and also provide you, as an individual, space to think and reflect, all surrounded by the stunning lakes and hills of the Lake District.
This is an ‘invitation only’ event and spaces are limited and are on a first come first served basis*
The initial focus of the first event in January 2024, very much showcased the best of Brathay, however the event quickly evolved into a networking and shared experiences event.
I was somewhat dubious about attending and a bit apprehensive to start with but what a wonderful experience that pushed me out my comfort zone and really gave me space to think within a beautiful location in the Lake District – Kate Whatley SPV
The beautiful views and abundant nature were also the ideal place to take some space to think and reflect on personal development. – Nicholas Turner, GMI Construction
The next iteration will therefore combine the best of Brathay, allow more opportunities for networking and for sharing your own journeys and experiences in a safe and confidential environment. As our emerging talent/L&D/HR colleagues spend so much of their working life looking after and supporting others this event provides an opportunity for you to reflect and recharge alongside others from similar environments.
The event will include a mix of indoor workshops, informal networking and of course activities that make full use of the lakes and hills surrounding Brathay. No specialist experience or skills are required and all relevant clothing and outdoor gear is provided.
Whilst everyone is encouraged to take part in all of the activities there is no pressure to participate in anything you feel uncomfortable doing.
We have a recording of a briefing meeting held in October available below – this provided an opportunity to hear from Brathay and from previous participants. To find out more about this event, please email helen.tanner@5percentclub.org.uk. Please use ‘Brathay January 2025’ in the subject line.
