Dale Power Solutions is recognised as a Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer

Member of The 5% Club, Dale Power Solutions has been recognised in the prestigious Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list, which is compiled annually by the National Apprenticeship Service and recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices.

The list was announced at the National Apprenticeship Awards, which took place on 18 January at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

After a tough selection process the most exceptional apprenticeship employers from all the National Apprenticeship Awards employer categories went forward to feature in the list, which showcases the breadth of employers who now offer apprenticeships.

 

Dale Power Solutions has an extremely active apprentice programme with over 24 young people (one third female) currently on an apprenticeship programme. Working with The Careers & Enterprise Company as part of a government initiative to combat poor social mobility in 12 identified areas in the UK, of which Scarborough is one such area. Dale Power Solutions works with young people to help inspire and prepare them for the fast-changing world of work.

Commenting on the company’s entry in the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list, Tim Wilkins, CEO at Dale Power Solutions said, “We are extremely pleased to have been recognised in the Top 100. We have a grass-roots strategy to solve a skills shortage in the industry – this is dependent on our apprentices actively promoting apprenticeships and opportunities in the local schools and colleges and is particularly important in Scarborough which has recently been recognised as a social mobility coldspot in the UK.

“Being named as one of the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers is a recognition of our work in the community and the support the rest of the organisation gives to our apprentices to make this possible.”

Sue Husband, Director of the National Apprenticeship Service commented on Dale Power Solutions being named a Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer. “The Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list 2017 demonstrates clearly the impact apprentices can have on an organisation. Apprentice employers are creating opportunities for individuals to gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed, up to degree level, while working and earning.
